EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a scientifically validated psychotherapy method that was originally developed for trauma and PTSD. Over time, its applications have expanded to many other areas, including anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, self-worth issues, limiting beliefs, and more.
Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR helps process and resolve distressing memories using bilateral stimulation - such as guided eye movements or tactile cues. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works on a much deeper level, enabling your brain to reprocess painful memories and traumatic experiences so they lose their emotional charge and intensity.
EMDR is a gentle yet powerful therapy that helps your brain heal from distressing experiences. Instead of just coping with the pain, EMDR helps you process and release it, so it no longer controls your life.
